Year 5U’s week
This week in Downfield-school we have been doing computing week, in 5U one of the first things we did was make a big chart of information all about animals and if they are classed as invertebrates or vertebrates, how they are rated in liking and what habitat they live in.
Then we did something called Minecraft one hour of code using laptops. What you do is you code your player to move or to do something in-particular, like move to the sheep that is to your south.
The next day a man came in to year 5 to show and tell us a little about his job. He makes games all day by Chaos created. He reprogramed his game so things wouldn’t go to plan, but with some of his help we got the game back to normal and we even made a new power-up the game was called Pancake Panic it’s on tablets, phones and other android devices.
The next day, we went to Lego Land and had a fun time there.
Then today, 5U and 5C did a workshop all about making a movie. At the start we did a little warm up and met who was going to be helping us and who we will be working with in our groups. After break we got told our genres and our location we will be filming in. We worked hard to film then we had lunch. After lunch we edited our movies then watched them and had lots of giggles and laughs whilst re-watching them.
