In 2D we have been having great fun creating miniature gardens as part of our IPC topic called ‘I’m alive’. We researched and planned our gardens and then created them in groups of four and five. We have to make sure we water them well, especially over the weekend otherwise they will dry out.
This week we have been very busy learning about Florence Nightingale. The children completed a life graph on Florence Nightingale and wrote down all the key parts of her life. Next week we will be looking at Christopher Columbus and Henry VIII.
Welcome back to a new term at Downfield.
This term we will be looking at ‘People of the past’ in our IPC topic. We are all looking forward to the fashion show that the children will be taking part in on Thursday. Don’t forget to bring your costumes or props in and your research homework based on the famous person you have chosen.
Photographs to follow soon!
We have been very busy over the past few weeks creating some fantastic work to put on display in our classroom. Here are some examples of the children’s IPC work on holidays and literacy work all about the book by Oliver Jeffers called ‘Lost and Found’.
Also, well done to Skye and Joshua for becoming ‘Star of the week’ over the last two weeks. They have both been working hard on their geography map work and have been listening carefully on the carpet. Well done!
