History Week in 2J

We have had great fun during History week looking at the Tudors, Normans, Victorians, Romans and WW2.

Let’s go on Safari

We have had great fun this week making a safari in a box. Here are some photographs of some of our finished work.

World Book Day in 2J

Today we dressed up as our favourite book characters.

Week beginning 27.02.17 in 2J

In Literacy this week we are writing poems about under the sea creatures, looking at using exciting word choices.

In Maths this week we are looking at our times tables, addition, subtraction and finding the missing numbers in a sequence.

In our topic lessons this week we will be finding out more about Kenya and the animals we might find there.

We will also be rehearsing our presentation for Friday and hope to see you there at 2.30pm.

Colchester Zoo

We had lots of fun at Colchester Zoo. We saw lots of animals, took part in a workshop about habitats and even got to feed the giraffes.

Literacy
This week in Literacy we are looking at the Funny Bones books. We are retelling stories through story maps and role play as well as writing a book review on the story.

Maths
This week in Maths we are looking at partitioning numbers for addition and column addition.

Topic
This week in our topic we are looking at the life cycles of other animals and what animals need to survive.

Week beginning 16.01.17 in 2J

Literacy
This week in Literacy we are looking at the Happy Families books by Allan Ahlberg. We will be writing our own jokes, dairy entries and stories. We will also be looking at using apostrophes for possession.

Maths
This week in Maths we will be looking at using our 2, 5 and 10 times tables. Some of us have even started to look at our 3 and 4 times tables.

Topic
Our new topic this term is ‘In the dark dark house.’ We will be learning all about the lifecycles of different animals this week.

Baking in 2J

X-Rays

We started our new topic ‘In the dark dark houe’ by looking at x-rays. We pieced all the parts together to make a full sized skeleton and we looked at other x-rays to find the brakes in the bones.
